RhythMotion Company Celebrity National Cruise  Dance Competition

RhythMotion Performing company just got back from a 5 days cruise on the Carnival paradise for our Celebrity Nationals

Dance Competition. Everyone that attended had such BLAST!!!!! All the group numbers did an amazing job and took many Gold and High Gold awards.

These dancers were such a great representation  for our Prescott Community of Dance. Everyone on the ship was saying what awesome dancers they were and we made so many new friends and added family members to the TDS Family.

We give  a special congrats to Rachael Bunch who won 3rd overall for her “You Had Time” Contemporary Solo and our very own “Toxie” group contemporary

number from Courtney Wagner  that received 3rd overall for Duo/Trio category. Rachael Bunch also recieved a scholarship award to attend “Steps on Broadway” and take classes to continue her dance journey. They saw such potential in her to give her this award!! Go Rachael

Sadie Posey work extremely hard all week on her Star Awards Title competition. She was 1 of 8 dancers selected from over 60 applicants to compete in this prestigious  Title Competition. She had to write a dance essay to even be considered for this competition. Then she was sent a dance DVD to learn a number prior to boarding the ship, perform in front of a panel of judges two by two, and be interviewed by all judges. She did an amazing job and should be applauded for her hard work that week. You rock Sadie!!!! She will try out again next year and take it all!!!!!

Donna Casey presented a contemporary piece entitled “The River” in the celebrity CREATE  division. This is a competition for the Choreographers. It is judged

on the creation of the piece and how well it fits with the vision of the choreographer. All of the judges really like the piece and it got rave reviews for all judges.

All and all the week was not only a huge success for all dancers that participated, but for the friendships that were made with all dancers and parents. This trip brought all of us much closer to one another. Which I did not think was possible. The TDS Family continues to bring the Tri-City area the most qualified dance instruction, fun filled atmosphere and a performing company that continues to set goals and achieve them
