Code of Conduct
1. MISSION STATEMENT
RhythMotion is a high energy performance based company, providing its performers with unlimited opportunities to excel and showcase their talents. RhythMotion works as a team. Building positive self image, and developing our artistic talents while showing respect, support, and encouragement to all.

2. DEFINING LINES
- We will work as a team, building positive images of ourselves and company whether in rehearsal, performance, or competition.
- We will be a high energy company. Members are expected to demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and commitment. Essential attributes in order to fully develop our artistic talents, physical skills, and mental capabilities.
- Company members are required to meet a higher standard in their work ethic. Supporting not only the company, but The Dance Studio and its many needs. (For example, assisting the Artistic Director, Instructors and student company members).
3. THE COMPANY
- CLASS PLACEMENT – The Artistic Director makes class placement decisions according to technical skills and progress. Refer to the ‘Class Placement Policy’ to understand more about the goals for the future of The Dance Studio.
- COMPANY REQUIRMENTS
- R/M Company (Unlimited Required)
- Ballet 1 class
- Jazz 1 class
- Lyrical 1 class
- Modern 1 class
- Hip Hop or Tap 1 Elective
- R/M Company (Unlimited Required)
- CLASS ATTENDANCE – Regular attendance is vital to student progress and group choreography. Attendance is necessary if a student wants to show a marked degree of improvement and allow teachers to do the best job possible. Absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class. Each student will be allotted adequate absences for each semester. It is NECESSARY to call if you are going to be late or absent from class.
REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE – Schedules will be posted 3 months in advance to allow company members and their family’s ample time to arrange their own schedules and activities.
4. CLASSROOM, STUDIO, AND STAGE CONDUCT
- Clean up after yourself. Dancers who leave messes including food, beverages, scattered personal belongings, and props in any area will be required to leave class or rehearsal to take care of their clean up. The Dancer will then be marked TARDY for that class or rehearsal –OR- If the person responsible is not found, at the end of rehearsal or class ALL COMPANY MEMBERS will be required to stay long enough to ensure cleanup. Dancers failing to stay and assist clean up will be marked TARDY.
- The use of foul or obscene language/gestures will not be permitted, regardless of age. Please remember The Dance Studio, facilitates students of all ages therefore, out of respect for ourselves and others act with prudence.
- Dismissal from class or rehearsal. Dancers will be dismissed from class for too much talking, lack of effort, not being prepared, or for inappropriate language & behavior. Parents will be made aware of the problem and if it becomes a regular issue an oral review board will be scheduled.
5. DRESS CODE (rehearsals/classes)
Students follow a dress code that reflects positive self image and discipline, allowing teachers to see body lines and make corrections. All attire will be approved by the Artistic Director and/or the Ballet Director (for Ballet classes and rehearsals).
- Shoes. Appropriate shoes must be worn for specific class or dance style. If this becomes a regular problem the dancer will be excused from the class or number, and an oral review board will be scheduled.
6. DRESS CODE (competitions/performances)
Dress appropriately for all dance classes. Jazz, Hip Hop Tap Lyr/Contemporary & Modern, Any dance attire with correct shoes. Ballet Black Leotard, Pink tights, NO SKIRTS (unless worn correctly on waist), NO SHORTS, hair in bun (slicked back hair, no fly aways)
7. SCHOLARSHIPS
Working scholarships will be granted on a case by case method in a fair and equitable manner. However, greater duties and responsibilities will be placed on both parents and student member. Terms and conditions will be discussed individually and if not met, the scholarship revoked.
